With regret we have to announce the passing of Bev Butler, VE7BEV.  Bev and her husband Ken VE7AX (SK), were founding members of the Mid Island Radio Club and both contributed extensively to club affairs and activities. Bev organized a delightful Ham Fest which was very well attended and featured many interesting and unique sessions and she helped enormously with social events for the club.

Ken was a friend of Sulo (honorary member MIRA) and together they obtained a 2m repeater and installed it on Mount Benson.  The repeater’s call was VE7RBB (Repeater Bev Butler}. That repeater and its call are now installed at Errington FH#1.

Bev met  regularly with a group of local ladies at McDonalds’ until fairly recently.

Bev was a member of the Canadian Ladies Amateur Radio Association  (CLARA) and participated along with several other local lady members, in many activities sponsored by the group.
