Radio Nets

An amateur radio net is an “on-the-air” gathering of amateur radio
operators. Most nets convene on a regular schedule and specific frequency, and
organized for a particular purpose, such as relaying messages, discussing a
common topic of interest, emergencies, or simply as a regular gathering of
friends for conversation.

Local Area Nets List

  • MIRA hosts a daily (Sunday through Friday) ‘Breakfast Bunch’ Net for local (and sometimes not -so-local) hams to gather and talk about events of the day. It’s an informal net running from 8:45am to about 9:15am on the VE7RPQ repeater system.
  • The Coquitlam Amateur Radio Emergency Services Society publishes a list of radio nets both local and regional. Follow the link below to their “Local Area Nets” web page for the latest listing. Given Coquitlam’s proximity to Oceanside, the list is very useful to Oceanside Hams. Their webpage is updated regularly and covers Nets in the HF, VHF, and UHF bands.
