Who We Are

The Mid-Island Radio Association, (MIRA) is a group of 40+ people who enjoy communicating via radio waves and spending time together.  By combining our technical skills with community service and social networking we have a lot of fun undertaking stimulating and challenging activities. We are all volunteers.

Our Mission

  • Promoting amateur radio communication, education, experimentation, and the hobby of amateur radio generally;

  • Being prepared to provide emergency communication in the event of disaster;

  • Maintaining a high standard of conduct in the exercise of the privileges allowed to radio amateurs; and

  • Providing the opportunity for social interaction among those with an interest in amateur radio.

Our Code of Conduct
