Les Corris VA7RN — SK

It is with great sadness and our condolences to his family that we announce the death of long-time MIRA member, Les Corris VA7 “Royal Navy” on January 24th, 2026.

Les was also a long term member of the BC DX CLUB and a founding member of the ORCA DX AND CONTEST CLUB.  Trained as a telegrapher in the Royal Navy before emigrating to Canada, Les was a spectacular CW operator and avid contester.  He was active in major contests from his home in Parksville for many years and was a regular operator at Duane’s VE7UF contest station in Comox.  

He was a great friend and conversationalist.. He will be missed by his many friends at home and around the world. According to his family, he died peacefully in his sleep.
