For those who are unaware, Keith Smith, VA7TAF, is the official MIRA historian. In 2010, Keith sat down with some of the founders of MIRA to record their stories about the formative years of our club and these stories have a home in the Our History section of the MIRA website.
Keith arranged each interview into sixty minute sessions broken down into two components; (1) approximately thirty minutes for background and preparation and (2) about twenty minutes for the actual interview. Each interview was recorded onto cassette tape and then transcribed into digital text. As Keith himself says, “The interviews are based on a more or less chronological series of questions to capture the memories in the member’s own words.” He is still trying to arrange one final interview.
