This page will contain updates from each of the Directors on our Board. Updates will be provided as needed/appropriate, so not all Directors will update all the time.
Repeaters (Don Tolson) — Mar. 2026 — Cercomm (Island Communications) has notified us that they cannot continue to operate the Mt. Cokely site and wish to decommission it by the end of April. The membership has ratified the Board’s recommendation that we retire VE7RPQ and reconfigure the repeater network to have the remote bases point to VE7RBB at the Errington FH and interconnect it with the VE7KU repeater, located just a little further down the mountain. To facilitate this, RBB will be taken out of service as of Mar. 2nd for updates and reconfiguration. It will be back online in about a month’s time. In the meantime, VE7RPQ will operate and its remote bases in Nanaimo and Qualicum Beach will continue to operate normally.
The DMR repeater @ Errington FH #1 is back in service with a new UHF duplexer (thanks Jeff!) and seems to be working very well. We should try to set up some sort of regular net for DMR handhelds to get together.
