We have our remotes back!
Thanks to the efforts of Jeff Stanhope, Gord Patella and Peter Tryon, we now have our simplex remote bases on Mt. Benson (just west of Nanaimo) and the 6m remote base on the Qualicum Beach Water tower back in service! They are now connected to the VE7RBB repeater ‘hub’ at the Errington FH #1, which is interconnected with the VE7KU repeater system.
Now, the Central Island repeater network extends down south to Nanaimo, north to Courtney/Comox and west to Tofino/Ucluelet! It’s great to have this capability to interconnect with friends and hams across the island! Who knows? Maybe it’s time for another truly ‘Coast-to-Coast’ exercise 🙂
Information on how to connect to the nodes is located on our ‘Repeaters’ page (copied below 🙂 )
